I'm finally making decent progress getting things off my needles. I'll confess to adding things almost as quickly as I cast off though. Eek. There's just too many great projects I want to work on!
I started this little embroidery recently and I'm really happy with how it's coming along. I used one of the sugar skull transfers from a the Sublime Stitching pattern Dia De Los Muertos and just am adding the flowers along the bottom randomly as I go. These colors are softer than ones I'm normally drawn too but I think I'm just craving some Spring color right now. I forget how much I love embroidery when I haven't done one in awhile. It's pretty instant gratification and building up textures with floss is just satisfying and fun.
I finished the beret that I share with you last time. It's romantically slouchy and just needs the buttons sewn on. I'll try to get some modeled photos to share with you next time. The yarn (Madeline Tosh Vintage) iswonderful to work with and the cables just too fun.
Since I finished one project I allowed myself to cast on a new one, ha! I started a Zuzus Petals cowl in one of our new Freia fingering yarns. Yarn and pattern are a perfect pairing and it takes just one skein making it super affordable and quick. It's just mesmorizing to watch the color slowly shift to the next, it's hard to put down.
I hope everyone has had a good week back to "reality" after the flurry of holiday activities!
