First FOs of 2016

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are enjoying your first few days of 2016. I've slowly been working my way through all nine of my WIPs and managed to finish two in the last day!

The first project I finished is my two color brioche cowl that I talked about in our first WIP Wednesday.

I loved this project. It really got me obsessed with brioche and I've since cast on two additional brioche projects. Manos Maxima is really the perfect yarn for this project. It's so light and lofty it makes this already squishy stitch even squishier. We've had a lot of people come in to the shop wanted to learn brioche so we're doing a class for this cowl project in February. It's filling up so sign up soon if you're interested!

The second is a cowl knit with the amazing Freia Ombre Bulky we just got in. This is really some of the funnest yarn I've ever knit with. It's a hand dyed gradient yarn with the prettiest color transitions, it's so fun to see how the colors meld into each other.  The super bulky size makes for perfect instant gratification projects. I knit this cowl in about two hours. The pattern is Jet Setter by StevenBe. The pattern calls for a size 17 needle but I used a 19 which makes for a longer cowl that can be wrapped around your neck twice. I love the versatility of this length. Stop in soon and try these beauties on!
